Some people don’t understand that poetry is not just words
and popularity contests and cliches
and followers.
It’s about emotion and connection.
Not everyone can write but everyone can try.
Some people have followers just because of cliques.
Read between the lines.
Go back to the essence of the written word.
Not the likes or the bullshit.
Not even the reviews
Close your phone and read a poetry book. Does it make you reflect? Can you connect? Feel more? Cry? Laugh? Smile? Does it make you want to read it over again?
