you said to leave it to fate
don’t make a date
the time “who cares”
the meeting
well, who dares.
Ain’t it funny how
time knocks us down now
how New York
was a daunting force
to carry me like a running horse
to your steps
in the cab in Brooklyn
we giggled and cried and this losing win
you get in my head
for a second
you get in my bed
and I would reckon
God would be hated
we would be jaded.
Even Aphrodite agrees
and Apollo he decrees
that lovers like us
make great statues
cupid & psyche
writing the blues.
I did dance at The W
with a good-looking crew
smoking on the street
I thought I saw you
but my heart didn’t skip a beat
in Times Square
and fuck I thought
“Life is not fair.”
And another week rolls by
and more tears I will surely cry
for you know you’ll always be the one
I don’t play dumb.
Third time is never a charm
it’s bullshit, causing more harm
better to go see Andy Warhol alone
sit on the steps you call home
and feel your presence
in your absence.

Sensational, seductive. Loove the depiction of live in dream city, New York:)
I ❤️NY
I have often thought how a brief brush against a passing person can leave such a hugely disproportional impact on one’s life. I put it down to being fortunate enough to cross paths with some remarkably special people and it would appear that you also have the gift. A very satisfying rendition with an elegantly coined closing – James Joyce would have used his term, “Greekly perfect” in a review. Nice work Chrissy.
Thank you so much. I don’t know what to say, I’m a bit tipsy at the monent so I am humbled and grateful that you read me and leave me the most incredible comments that I wish I could reblog, when really I don’t reblog at all! Love the comment! Also, I write like TS Eliot who wrote more for the masses than for someone in particular. My imagination is vast. My inebriation on words, intense. My muse, immense. Xo
Thanks Mike

This is awesome, I feel my New York in every verse, every word.
Glad to hear that. New York should be felt. Thank you so much!
New York, yes, it is dramatic, sometimes. I felt you in it to… too strong
Cuz It’s in my Blood.
Blood…Is red, salty and hot
