Social Media Break

I’ve been working on writing and editing my new poetry book, Love & Metaxa for a about two years now. Everytime I think I finish editing, I decide to add more. I am also working on two other writing projects. I find that being on social media takes away from my time to actually write. This is a dilemma, but if you think about it all I really need to do is take a break. My last day of teaching was Friday, I have to go in for four more days to clean the classroom and organize and after that I have two months off. I’ve decided to take a two month hiatus to focus on writing. In this digital technological age, people tell me you can’t afford to do that as a writer….you will lose followers, you will lose your fans. I believe that if all my followers appreciate my poetry books and novels, then they will appreciate my break in order to write and produce more work. N’est-ce pas?

I want to thank all of you who follow my words and comment, who read my poems and who have been following me for over a decade. I will never give up my WordPress blog because of this community of bloggers and writers that I adore. Thank you guys for being here and suporting me.

Much love and respect,

Christina Strigas

All the best for the book. Breaking off social media offers the much-needed sanity and what matters is following the heart, Chissy.
