Middle Zone

What is done

can never be undone.

Don’t spend your life

looking for something

you’ve already found.

And other quotes

from The Goldfinch.

Sometimes i feel sick

to my stomach

over what i’ve done

and other

times I blame art

and pretend

it’s all in the name of art

for the need to feel

better than nothing.

but my heart

knows right from wrong

or so it believes

all the lies.

I wish there were no screen

between us

other times I am so thankful

there is

and you never see me

in my true nature.

The brilliance of the sun

in my hair

is tidier

than the knots behind my back.

There are

no equations

to happiness

It’s not scientific

A marries B

has babies

and lives happily ever after.

It’s not astrological

Pisces and Cancer

together forever.

It’s not poetic

we are soul mates

until death.

There is a C

and a D

Unpredictable, unbelievable

lighting up the way

with words and music

to unravel the soul.

Some lovers live surrounded

by black

others in white

i am betwixt the yin and yang.

Focusing on illusion

disregarding reality

as nonsense.

We marry the ones

we are not supposed to marry

to have the kids

we are meant to have

how could they have made

It through their troubles

if you weren’t their Mother

or Father?

Who would have given them

your advice? As for your

Husband or your wife

you know that

they can never be blood

and they can leave

when they stop loving you

or you can stay

when you don’t love them

for the sake of the moon

or the spirit wolf

for the sake

of the church

or You can go

and come back

as you please

through hotel lobbies

and perfumed necks.

I am sitting in some sport

proud to be a Mom

and this is the essence

of being extreme

and telling your fears

to stfu.

I have zero answers

to your unasked questions.

Break time is over.

Life is happening now.

I promise to be back

one day soon.

never hold your breath

for me,

as I won’t for you.

Well I’m glad you connected to this poem. I really felt while I was writing it, that it may be hard to connect to, but thank you for clearing that up. Sometimes, you write something you feel is too personal and no one would get it, and surprisingly I am wrong. Lol thanks xo
