Helpless Heart

September 26, 2016

Bounded by elastic treasures of dreams.
I stood in silence,
and wanted to die. She was
the most
beautiful girl I had ever seen. Life
cannot be
a dream, so dark, as morning rain
conquers fortunes
of affection. All the sweet thoughts,
with wild waves
cling to charmed mortal care.

I saw him first
and felt the tide in me
crash down. All he held
in his eyes
made my immortality
collide in verse. I lost
the hour, the minute
of closing time.
I lost my virginity
again,
as if in those two minutes
our eyes
met,
I was fully clothed
and naked.

Tortured with uncertainty over the
plains, made
him nervous. Whatever his eyes
desired, folded
like a beautiful map, penetrating
with silence.
The heart was helpless, stretched
by a cord,
enough to stray into an empty
space, where
divine love could confront
loneliness, and
heal the pain by looking at the
vast empty sky.

She felt a sudden rush
of insecurity
like a key was given to her
with no door.
The sky kept secrets
divine love never existed for her
silence meant noise
and she knew that his eyes
held her captured
of something she knew
nothing about
and in that moment
she wanted to run
find a portal
and hide.

He wished life could be spent in fantasy,
slipping into
her heart, and hearing the rhythm of
breathing.
What could be more noble, to have
her passion
and vision passing through his mind.
In the clear
mountain air, going into solitude
was what he
needed, to indicate traces of her
presence.

But she knew that reality knocked on her art
and bid her to please come back,
to leave this land of make believe
and drive the kids to school
make the bed
wash the dishes
and forget about his traces.

His inner purity, established a fear
of not
having enough. As the trees took root
into the graves,
holding his mind still. The compassion
was not self
pity, bringing a warmhearted wish to
blend into one
another, transforming darkness into light.
He found himself
awakening in her, releasing the body
into brightness,
before disappearing again in empty
space.

She discovered the ethereal silence of his thoughts calmed her.
She ran through
the tall grass,
but her timeless emotions
transcended lifetimes.
Being so close
to someone
who had such power
over her decisions
rendered her above space,
and this concept of forever slid through
her thoughts
like sand
between her toes
on childhood vacations.

He gazed over the cliff, weighed down
by rain.
Without a cloud in the sky,
death awakened
the reality, as he felt sacred,
lifted into a light,
filled with pain. Everyone of his
recollections were
about to abandon him, his last
attempt was
to dream. He was tired to the
point, that he
could no longer control his
contemplations.
He stood totally still, as life
moved gradually.
Amid that brief minute his breathing
was quiet.
He opened his eyes and looked into
her fragile eyes,
one last time. The entryway of
his heart flung
open, and joy flew over the ocean.
He was ready
to go, and sail with the wind.
We shall be
as one in another life time,
when white
doves comfort my desire.

  1. Such sensuality coupled with aesthetic and inner beauty captivates the entire being. I am speechless. I take a bow.
