Miss

September 20, 2016

Society has all these rules

that need to be drowned

with tons of kisses

from my lips onto yours.

Paradise is full of locks

and horses roaming freely.

The trees are dying, I can see

what others miss. I suppose I

take too many walks and think

way too much instead of

staring at my phone

to lose myself in. I hold onto

tightly to the birth of my children

the love in their eyes, the words

they write me on birthday cards.

All the things everyone recycles,

I reuse, in DIY ways, like love

and hate. Eventually, you will fall

under my spell too. He says I’m some

kinda witch, the ancient one more than

the modern Coelho.

Even the girl that once hated

me, bought me weed. I won

her over.

I lose you too quickly.

Wine for breakfast and vodka for dinner,

so sick of all the phonies

but I missed you

in the long line of loneliness.

I always miss you

in all the ways

imagineable.
