Outside the Mind

I watched myself sleep

I dreamed that

you were next to me.

I watched myself drive

I heard my song

through your speakers.

I watch myself type

to some beat in my head

as drummers bang

with anger.

I observed the way you

made me breakfast

without warning me first.

I loved the kisses on my neck

as you brought your hands

up my spine.

I waited in line at the bank

avoiding all those Facebook faces.

I wrote you a poem

that I never wrote on paper.

It is meant to stay

outside the mind.

I am a robotic poet

when I want to be.

Produce words

upon request.

Challenge my mind

first,

then

bolt again.
