she’s falling from the tip
of sadness
into that water
she can only see
her melancholy
brings her closer
to the sea
when she told him
he laughed, snide remarks
she said no more
ran to the man with the sparks
but he left no tracks
she saw the train ahead
moved to the country
lay in bed
got up from time to time
lethargic, like a bear
lost all her reasons to mime
while he showed her how much no one really did care
but her mind was muddled
headed straight for trouble
as she walked into that bar
and all her words didn’t take her far
as she got caught in some web
drank something blue
the next day her clothes were gone
her mind was numb
her sadness anew
she could not distinguish the heroine
from the protagonist.
